'Idol' Bounces Back ... Mostly - Is it ??

After a disastrous Country Week that saw everyone tumble off "American Idol's" bucking bronco faster than you can say, "yay, shots," Motown Week became a crucial moment for many of the stars whose lights were beginning to dim.

And while the stress was too much for some to handle -- lookin' at you Lil -- others, like Allison, used the pressure to their advantage, turning coal into diamonds!

Last week: 3
I've liked Allison's vocals since the beginning of the competition and she's placed in the top five every week. But until last night I was loathe to make the comparison the judges had been asserting since Hollywood Week.

But after last night's unbelievable performance of "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" I no longer fear saying that Allison does have a Kelly Clarkson vibe about her. Now if only we could do something about that pesky personality.

Last week: 5
After Adam made it through last week without even landing in the bottom two it became clear that his fans are steadfast and not going to abandon him for trying something new. Which is good considering he stripped it down this week for "Tracks of My Tears" and really brought it to a new level.

Granted, I could have done with a fewer moments in his falsetto, but there is no denying this guy has what it takes -- voice, personality, originality -- to become the next "American Idol."

Last week: 7
Oooh boy, I think every one of the Tender Puppy's fans (are we doing that?) came down with a case of the vapors last night as he slayed "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You." And am I the only one who thinks his voice is getting stronger and stronger as weeks go by?

The only downside with Kris is that with every subsequent week, producers are showing his wife more and more. And with every minute of additional screen time, I find her to be increasingly smug. Maybe I'm projecting,

Last week: 1
Matt followed up Country Week's only stellar performance with another brilliant one. He really dug deep into his soul for "Let's Get It On" without sounding cheap or cheesy. Not an easy hurdle to cross if you've ever heard something do this song at karaoke.

One more week like this and I genuinely believe he'll be stiff competition for Adam vocally and Kris in term

Hoodrat Edition - Who Wore It Better ??

In the most random promotional accessory of the day, both Eva Longoria-Parker and Carla Gugino ended up at events in different countries, both using yellow cars to keep them propped up.

On this side of the Atlantic, Eva got her hands on a hard body to promote Rally For Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup, an organization for which she is the honorary chair.

Over in Berlin, Carla palmed a yellow cab at the German premiere of "Race To Witch Mountain," the movie she co-stars in with The Rock. Er, Dwayne Johnson. Only he could make that name look cool, you know?

In any event, which stunning star made the most of her mobile: Eva or Carla?

Mia Tyler: I Didn't Want Anyone To Know I Watched 'Tool Academy' ???

In the grand tradition of inner beauty pageants, many shows have tried and failed to transform the pretty on the outside contestants into emotional high functioners.

But "Pretty Wicked" -- Oxygen's first stab at reality -- has an ace up its cat scratched sleeve: Mia Tyler. Where other series fill their judging panel with pretty faces who haven't walked the walk, Mia knows exactly where these girls are coming from -- just read her shockingly honest autobiography, "Creating Myself," if you don't believe.

Mia -- a self confessed reality TV junkie -- jumped at the chance to clue these wicked women in on exactly where their lives were headed if they didn't undergo a major soul overhaul.

PopWrap: What made you want to judge a reality competition?
Mia Tyler: Well, I already do a lot of work like this on my MySpace and I figured this would reach a lot more people. This is one of those shows that isn't typical reality -- we're not just tossing a bunch of girls into a house to see them fight. This has a heart, a story and a message.

PW: What were your expectations coming in?
Mia: I had very few. They just said, go in and be yourself. But I thought I'd hate these girls. That they'd all be spoiled brats, but the funny thing is you get attached to them. This was probably one of the most humbling experiences because you watch them transform and the hardest part becomes kicking them out because it's like breaking up. And I am really not good at that.

PW: Unlike a lot of other shows, the judges actually see footage from inside the house on "Pretty Wicked." How much time did you spend going over tape?
Mia: A lot. The producers picked out the stuff we needed to see -- and it wasn't all bad -- but I think the girls were worried about that. But us knowing everything is what made the experience work. We'd have like 15 hour days -- watching footage, preparing and then taping. It gave me a newfound respect for reality TV.

PW: Are you a fan of the genre?
Mia: Oh, I'm a reality TV junkie.

PW: Which way do you lean, towards shows like "Amazing Race" or "Rock of Love?"
Mia: I watch "Idol," I love the "Amazing Race" -- I want to be on that so badly -- and I love Bret Michaels' show. I don't watch "The Bachelor." I tried to get into it, but I'm a rocker chick so I can't watch typical LA girls vying for the love of some rich guy. I need skanky strippers!

PW: I know, it's one of those things where I almost sheepishly admit my love of it, like, "Yes, I watch 'Tool Academy.'"
Mia: Oh, I loved "Tool Academy!" That was my secret show with my BFF Courtney. We wouldn't tell anyone we watched it. Then we totally fell for one of the guys.

PW: Which one?
Mia: Shawn -- oh god, he's so hot. I loved him. So it was like out little thing, we'd talk about it in corners because we didn't want anyone to know we watched "Tool Academy."

What If Miley Cyrus Is A Good Actress?

I'm not the world's biggest Miley Cyrus fan. There is just something about her I don't like/approve of/condone. And when you don't care for a celebrity, it's hard to like them as an actor. Especially given Miley's omnipresent profile. It's not like I can watch Hannah Montana and see her as anything but Miley.

But maybe I judged too soon -- what if underneath all the PR stunts, inappropriate photos and racism landmines is a future Oscar winner? Stick with me here.

According to Miley, emo-tastic author Nicholas Sparks -- "The Notebook" -- has scripted a new film specifically with her in mind. It's called "The Last Song," which makes me think someone is dying! Bring the Kleenex!

Miley is also quick to let us know that "Last Song" will be a major departure for her. "I've always been lucky to play parts that relate to me and this doesn't at all," she told WENN. "I have my issues but not as bad as this chick, so I'm happy to play someone that's just kind of out there, so I can actually see if I'm a good actress or not."

So while Miley is busy making the studio worry that she's incapable of transcending Hannah Montana with that last sentence, let's talk about who she will play. In the planned 2010 movie America will get to see Miley as a rebellious teenager who is sent to spend the summer with her estranged father.

The movie will be produced by Walt Disney, so I can't imagine they'd sully their cash cow with drugs, sex or violence, but perhaps they're ready to segue her from tween to adult -- much like her boyfriend.

But seeing as I have never watched even a millisecond of her TV or film work, I am left wondering -- is Miley Cyrus a good actress?
